AP DSC Notification 2026 Selection Process

The AP DSC (Andhra Pradesh District Selection Committee) 2026 recruitment process is designed to ensure that only qualified and deserving candidates are selected for teaching positions in government schools. The selection process consists of multiple stages, and candidates must successfully complete each stage to secure a final appointment.

1. Written Examination

The Written Examination is the most important stage of the AP DSC 2026 recruitment process. All eligible candidates who submit their applications will be required to appear for this computer-based or offline examination, depending on the notification.

The written test assesses candidates on various subjects, including:

• General Knowledge and Current Affairs
• Child Development and Pedagogy
• Educational Psychology
• Teaching Methodology
• Subject-Specific Knowledge (based on the post applied for)
• English, Telugu, and other relevant language skills
• Logical Reasoning and Aptitude (if prescribed)

The examination pattern and syllabus vary depending on the teaching post, such as School Assistant (SA), Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Physical Education Teacher (PET), or Principal.

Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks specified in the official notification to remain eligible for further selection.

2. AP TET Weightage

The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) plays a significant role in the final selection process.

Candidates applying for AP DSC teacher posts must possess a valid AP TET qualification (or any other teacher eligibility qualification recognized by the Government, as mentioned in the notification).

The AP Government has retained the existing policy of giving weightage to AP TET scores while preparing the final merit list.

Generally, the final selection score is calculated by considering:

• Performance in the AP DSC Written Examination.
• Prescribed weightage for AP TET marks.

The exact percentage of weightage and calculation formula will be specified in the official AP DSC 2026 notification.

3. Merit List Preparation

After the written examination is conducted and AP TET weightage is applied, the Department of School Education prepares a district-wise and category-wise merit list.

The merit list is prepared based on:

• Combined score obtained after applying the prescribed weightage.
• Reservation policies of the Andhra Pradesh Government.
• Community category (OC, BC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.).
• Horizontal reservations for eligible categories such as Women, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Ex-Servicemen, and Sports quota (where applicable).
• Local area reservations as per government rules.

Candidates securing higher ranks in the merit list will be considered for the available vacancies in their respective categories.

4. Certificate Verification

Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will be invited for Certificate Verification (CV).

During this stage, candidates must produce original documents to verify their eligibility, educational qualifications, reservation claims, and other details mentioned in the online application.

Documents generally required include:

• SSC (Class 10) Certificate
• Intermediate Certificate
• Degree Certificate and Marks Memos
• B.Ed., D.El.Ed., or equivalent teacher training qualification
• AP TET Certificate
• Community/Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• EWS Certificate (if applicable)
• PwD Certificate (if applicable)
• Residence/Local Status Certificate
• Aadhaar Card
• Recent Passport-size Photographs
• Other documents specified in the official notification

Failure to produce valid documents or submitting incorrect information may lead to cancellation of candidature.

Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification and satisfy all eligibility conditions will receive the final appointment.

The appointment process generally includes:

• Publication of the final selection list.
• Issue of appointment orders by the competent authority.
• Posting to government schools based on vacancy availability, merit rank, reservation, and district preferences (where applicable).
